REVIEW PROCESS:
If designated funds remain in the “Grants Payable” account, the Board will review the grant application at their next regular Board meeting and move to approve or decline the grant request.
If all designated funds have already been disbursed for the year, the Board Secretary will advise the applicant that no grant funds are currently available.
NOTIFICATION:
When the Board approves a grant, in whole or in part, the Board Secretary will notify the successful applicant by email within one week of the decision. The Treasurer will then issue a cheque or etransfer to the grant recipient, using the contact information provided on the grant application.
RESTRICTIONS:
Please note that grants cannot be used to pay wages. Any application that proposes direct payment of employee wages will be returned to the applicant with an explanation of this restriction.
REQUIRED REPORTING:
After the grant funds have been spent, the recipient organization must submit a brief report describing how the funds were used and whether the anticipated outcomes were achieved. The GAIHCS Board will use this information to guide future grant decisions.
