Message from Diane Thornton of the BC Association of Healthcare Auxiliary...Aug 2021
"I put off writing this article for our next newsletter, hoping that the events unfolding around us all would improve but that was not to be. When Dr. Henry moved us into Step 3 on July 1st of the provincial reopening plan, we all had high hopes of a return to a more normal life..."
Please read the rest of the president's message as it relates to our own GABE shop.

We need more drivers, please!
We deliver suppers to people Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We need lots of drivers because we each deliver once every 2nd week. Our times usually start around 4:15 to around 5:30. We try to have drivers deliver near where they live. For more info - email@example.com

DRIVERS TO DOCTORS ON GABRIOLA ISLAND
Need a ride to your appointments?
Don't have any way of getting to and from either Gabriola medical clinic, the island dentist, lab, pharmacy, registered therapist (in the Village core), or the VIHA Lifestyles post-op and seniors' exercise programs? Drivers to Doctors is providing drives to medical-related appointments on Gabriola, with extra precautions because of Covid-19.
Masks are required for both drivers and patients, and if either has any COVID-like symptoms the drive will have to be reassigned or postponed. Frequently touched surfaces in the car, such has door handles and seat belts, are disinfected between drives.
Due to prolonged contact during drives to medical appointments in Nanaimo we have had to suspend these until the situation improves. We are continually reevaluating when it would be safe to restart these drives.
Call Marni Laird ph: 250-713-8018 at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment to schedule a driver to pick you up.
